What’s new in ios 6?

Apple ios 6 – new features

On the surface nothing much appears to have changed in the new ios 6, but if we take a closer look we can see some great new additions. Google maps has been replaced by Apple Maps. Siri has been updated and now works well in the UK and FaceTime operates over 3G. All these extras sound great but are older devices getting any of the benefits?

Here is a look at what’s available on your Apple device.

Apple ios 6 feature list

Here is a simple guide to ios 6 functionality:

Accessibility - Makes the iphone more disability friendly.

FaceTime - Video calling over the 3G network requires iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, or iPad (3rd generation) with 3G data capability.

Maps – The maps app gives you Turn-by-turn spoken directions and a great 3D flyover feature.

Panorama – This new camera feature allows you to capture a 240 degree panoramic photo.

Passbook - Save your boarding passes, movie tickets, coupons and loyalty cards all in one place.

Shared Photo Streams – Share photos with people you choose over using icloud.

VIP inbox – iOS 6 mail lets you setup a VIP list.

Find My Friends - Share your location with family and friends using your Apple device.

AirPlay - View your images and video using Apple TV.

AirPrint - Print images on your wireless printer.
